K.A.Gilmore, Author, Educator, Speaker, Strategist

K.A. Gilmore writes at the intersection of race, power, memory, and silence.

For decades, she built companies, led creative teams, and taught advertising and design. She understood branding, messaging, and power in the marketplace.

What she had not fully examined was silence. Her own. And the systems that reward it.

Then George Floyd was murdered.

Professional awareness became personal reckoning. Nobody Told Me I Am Black began as one book and became a three book series examining race, power, and the inherited stories that shape American life.

The series continues because racism does not disappear. It evolves.

Gilmore is the founder of No Moss Brands, a Phoenix-based branding and marketing firm. She previously served as Creative Director for a 1.5 billion dollar retail company with more than 100 United States locations and has worked in both agency and corporate environments. She is an adjunct instructor in the College of Arts and Media at Grand Canyon University and holds a Master of Science in College Instruction.

She is the fifth child of Audrey and Alfred Gilmore, the youngest in her family, and the mother of one daughter. In the summer of 2024, her 40 year old daughter died unexpectedly from alcoholism. That loss reshaped everything. She is currently writing a companion book, Nobody Told Me It Would End This Way, exploring what it means to raise and lose an only child.

K.A. Gilmore brings candor, rigor, and lived experience to conversations that many institutions avoid. She is available for workshops, conferences, interviews, and conversations that require both candor and courage.
